Steve Dunne, PhD, MBA, CFP®
Steve Dunne has been a finance and economics professional since 1970. He has been an econometrician at the US Census Bureau and a senior economist at both the Investment Company Institute and the US Department of Energy. He was a senior financial analyst (bond manager) at the Bonneville Power Administration in Portland, during which he also taught evening classes in economics and finance at Portland State University. Steve began his financial advisor career at a national financial services firm in 1999, initially focusing on the retirement planning needs of Federal and state employees.
Steve enjoys helping each of his very special clients. He is dedicated to working with individuals, couples, families and small businesses, using a strategic approach to financial planning. The key to Steve’s career has been a positive attitude, accessibility, combined with an ever-present Irish wit. Steve thoroughly enjoys time spent mentoring and coaching both clients and colleagues. Steve is committed to developing long-term client-advisor relationships by keeping each client’s program up-to-date, consistent with changing needs.
Steve currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Willamette Financial Advisors, LLC. He has earned the CFP® designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the Series 6, 7, 24, 53, 63, and 66 securities registrations, as well as being licensed in Life and Health Insurance. He has a B.A. (economics) from Georgetown University, an M.B.A. from George Washington University, and a PhD (Economics – monetary theory & policy and international economics) from Catholic University.
Steve is a native of New York City and has lived in Portland since 1981 with his wife, two sons, and daughter. He enjoys hiking, swimming, and family travels. He is active in community services, politics, and church activities.
