Ron Barry, PhD, CFP®
Ron serves as the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Willamette Financial Advisors, LLC. He is also an Independent Financial Advisor, a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and a member of the Oregon and SW Washington FPA Chapter. In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, Ron holds the Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations.
Ron specializes in addressing the unique needs of health care professionals, public (federal and state) employees, and independent business owners. Ron values personalized interactions and strives to establish long-term relationships to help satisfy the financial objectives of his individual clients. As a CFP® professional, Ron is committed to the highest fiduciary standard of serving in his clients’ best interests.
In addition to his advisory practice, Ron enjoys participating in important community activities, including:
- serving as pro bono financial advisor for Financial Planning Days (Portland, OR);
- serving as a pro bono financial advisor for victims of domestic abuse (Bradley Angle House, Portland, OR); and
- serving as a FPA chapter volunteer for Oregon Public Broadcasting telephone fundraising efforts.
Prior to entering the financial services industry (in 2002) Ron spent over 25 years as a biomedical research scientist working at both the local and national levels with the Department of Veterans Affairs. His problem-solving experience facilitates the personalized assistance he provides to clients in the areas of asset accumulation and management as well as income distribution.
Originally a native of southern Idaho, Ron and his wife moved to the Portland area in 1985 where they raised two daughters. He enjoys traveling and a number of outdoor activities, including golfing, hiking, biking and fishing.
